YOUR FUTURE TEAM

At Avular, we are looking for a new team member to join our Vertex team. Here, you will work on developing, integrating, and testing new functionality for our flying platform, the Vertex. In this role, you will work closely with software engineers and the platform architect. As a control engineer, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the performance of our products and the success of client projects.

YOUR ROLE

As part of the flying team, you will contribute to the development of the flight controller. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing new features for the Vertex, improving existing algorithms, and implementing custom changes required for client-specific requests. You will take full ownership of your tasks, which also include providing the necessary design documentation and executing test flights.

  • Contributing to our flight control codebase using MATLAB/Simulink and C++.

  • Working on everything between receiving sensor data and controlling our motors.

    · Designing and implementing specific control loops (attitude, position, and velocity), sensor filtering, and state estimation.

  • Developing customer-specific features and testing them on-site in diverse environments such as forests, agriculture, offshore, or industrial settings.

  • Documenting and testing the required software specifications.

  • Analyzing flight log data to verify your features or conduct root cause analysis of reported issues.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Control Systems.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in robotics or control systems.

  • Experience implementing control algorithms on hardware.

  • Experience working and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including hardware engineers.

  • Bonus: Experience with Linux, ROS2, and C++.

  • Bonus: Experience with the following tools: Git, Jira, Confluence.

  • Excellent proficiency in both spoken and written English.

  • Affinity for mobile robots and autonomous systems.
